Lazy Italian Breaded Tilapia Recipe
While lacking the complex flavors of some other fish like trout and salmon, tilapia is inexpensive, more sustainable and much easier to farm, taking pressure off wild fish stalks. This is an easy breaded version with some short ingredients (Thanks, sis!).
- 6 Tilapia Fillets
- 1 Cup Italian Seasoning Breadcrumbs (less herbs & spices for you to painstakingly measure out!)
- 3 Tablespoons Grated Parmesan Cheese (or more if you are a cheese fiend, no judgement here)
- 1 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder (not garlic salt!)
- 1/2 Cup of Creamy Italian Dressing
Preheat your oven to 400F
While the oven is heating up, thoroughly mix all the dry ingredients (breadcrumbs, cheese, garlic powder) in a bowl. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with non-stick or vegetable oil.
Pour dressing into a separate container and dip each fillet one at a time, coating all surfaces. Transfer the fillet to your breadcrumb container, and make sure it is thoroughly covered with your breading.
Place each each breaded fillet on your baking sheet, making sure none touch.
Bake at 400F for 18-22 minutes. Breadcrumbs should be browned and fish cooked through.
Add lemon juice to taste.
