Seattle’s Museum of History and Industry
The First Thursday of every month the museums and galleries of Seattle throw open their doors to the public with free admission. Astrid had reminded me and invited me to an outing but we later realized that with it being New Year’s Day, most would be closed. The Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) was open, however. Obviously, I’d never been but surprisingly neither had Astrid or Caley. We were all in for a pleasant surprise.
The museum features special events, but honestly the series of historic displays was charming (I’ve got a softspot for 19th century technology… SteamPunk!), featuring daily life, technology, city history and development. Too much to take in during a single visit but we spent a solid two hours perusing the displays.
