Apple Wax

Ok, I understand that produce companies coat apples on wax as a preservative and appearance enhancer, but this morning’s apple was an exercise in excess. It took some significant elbow grease for me to reach the fruit-o-sphere underneath this particularly generous coating.  I can now rest in the safe confidence that in case of a power outage, I can stick a wick in these particular apples and enjoy ample, soothing candlelight.
