Bands or Artists I Regret Never Seeing in Concert
I’m not actually a big concert guy. I prefer smaller venues and listening parties, but whether because of age or opportunity, I regret never seeing the following bands in concerts (in no particular order). I’m sure there are more that should be on the list. Any on your list?
- The Beatles
- Outkast
- Sting & The Police
- The Rolling Stones
- Muddy Waters
- Simon & Garfunkel
- Rage Against the Machine
- The Beastie Boys
- Dave Matthews Band
- The Doors
- Queen
- Bob Marley (& the Wailers)
- Led Zeppelin
- Prince
- R.E.M.
- Cake
- David Bowie
- N.W.A.
- Red Hot Chili Peppers
- Ice-T
- Creedence Clearwater Revival
- The Cure
- Pink Floyd
The Cure should be coming in concert before too long, they didn’t cancel their tour, they simply postponed it.
I’ve seen them once and REM twice, once on the Monster tour and on their most recent tour. I enjoyed the Monster tour better.
I would like to see almost all of the others in concert, as I’ve not seen any of them. Esp. Cake, The Beastie Boys, David Bowie, and Ice-T.
Well, you can still do some of them.
Tickets for The Police’s second show in Atlanta go on sale tomorrow morning.
Hmmm, now if I can just convince the other 20,000 people not to go. 🙂
I’ll add a thing or two that are on my list:
U2 (they could tour again, but who has the $125 a ticket they rate these days?)
I missed out on Sugar, though I’ve seen Bob Mould several times.
I missed out on Crowded House until two nights ago on their 10-years-later reunion tour (of course, one of the original members, who was an important part of their live shows, killed himself two years ago and I hear it’s just not the same.).
Oh, and Self. But now that I think of that, I saw them at a reunion show (which was a tribute to a dead bandmember and benefit for his kids).
Johnny Cash?
Zoo TV Tour as a younger man.
I’d have LOVED to have seen a Johnny Cash performance.
I’d have liked to see U2 before, but Bono is such a tool now that it reduces my enjoyment of his music.
I’d have loved to see Sugar, Bob Mould is the stuff. As is Crowded House.
I feel old ;).
Take heart, you’re younger than Bono and certainly not a tool. 🙂
Ones I have seen that I think you would like (Then again I’ve got a few more miles on me) Joan Baez, Santana, America, Journey and last but not least especially because of the venue, Nurenburg Germany from the same spot that Hitler reviwed the masses for his 1936 epic “Triumph Of The Will”, both Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton performing “The Times They Are A Changin'”. Love the irony.
