CDC Disease “Trading Cards”… I choose you Hantavirus!
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has issued two sets of disease trading cards available as free downloads (Adobe PDF) from their website. Sorry gamers, they do not appear to be part of a collectible trading card game, but I suppose you could scribble in your own stats and argue whether or not E coli is restricted in “tournament play”. If you understood any part of that last sentence, congratulations you just earned a geek point for today. 🙂
I suspect it won’t be long before someone turns these into an online quiz for journal/blog filler material.
OMG –
These are *great*!
Dare I say “Gotta catch ’em all!”?
Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuch!
I’m inordinately amused by this.
I also found a gross new book for us!
Gross new book? Do tell! The literary impact of cholera is wearing off. 🙂
It’s “Riddled with Life: Friendly Worms, Ladybug Sex, and the Parasites That Make Us Who We Are.”
It’s going to give me the screaming willies, but I want to read it anyway.
“The literary impact of cholera is wearing off”?
Nice Gabriel Garcia Marquez allusion!
You know I was really aiming at more at the neighborhood of Steven Johnson’s The Ghost Map, but I’ll totally take a Marquez allusion. 🙂
Lemon, I’ll totally add Riddled to my reading list (if Don Quixote doesn’t kill me, attempt number three). If I get and finish a copy of Riddled first, would you like to borrow it?
YES!
