It’s a small world, after all…
You know you spend entirely too much time with technical support for various hosting companies, service providers, etc on behalf of your clients, friends and family when:
- The rep recognizes your voice before you identify yourself (twice in the last three weeks with different companies)
- You know a rep’s real name and read their blog even though you’ve never interacted with them outside of their role as a rep (three times in the last two months).
- You find out you knew a rep from real life during the course of a support call (twice in the last year; one gamer from my MMO days and one person I knew in college).
- You’ve physically and unintentionally met a rep you’ve dealt with only on the phone or internet in a non-technical setting (once in the last year).
