Good Eats
I know I’m WAY behind the curve on this one, but I recently started watching a few episodes of Alton Brown’s Good Eats. Though I’d caught a few minutes here and there before, I’ve never been a big fan of the Cooking Show genre, but he sort of grows on you. I can see why P reputable worships him, grin. Brown’s got this light, practical, yet quirky way of presenting fundemental cooking as well as the occasional higher cuisine.
The geek faction, in particular, would probably appreciate his mix of explanation, example and experimentation. For example, I know I’ve now got the urge to build my own heatless, box fan jerky dehydrator. 🙂
Anyhow, I’m now sitting on a stack of the first season episodes, with the other episodes in my limited que for video viewing. Perhaps a Good Eats project is in order… work my way through each episode’s recipes or whatnot.
