Hiking Gear Photos & Details
Here are photos, gear lists and weights for a few of the things I carry on longer hikes. All are still very much in progress and come with the disclaimer that I am by no means an ultralight hiker, but I do manage to carry my share. Perhap I’ll trim some things, add some things or remove some things as more actual use in the field bears out.
This is the venerable but rock solid, Optimus Hunter stove I use. I’ve added a small plastic bottle of primer fuel and a storm lighter inside its metal case. Outside is a 11oz MSR Fuel bottle with an after market spigget cap so no additional funnel is needed. I find 11oz of white gas fuel sufficient to fill the stove 4 times (with a 50 minute burn time each). Total Weight: 2 lbs 4 oz (fuel included)
Yes, I carry a bit more in this department than most hikers, deal. Total Weight: 1 lb 2oz.
